âHey, sleepy girl.â
She opened her eyes to find Colt standing beside the bed staring down at her. How long had she slept? After sheâd finished working on the file, Colt had held her in his arms and bottle-fed her one of the nutritious shakes then gotten into bed with her and held her as she fell asleep. It had been perfect. âHi, Daddy.â
He smiled and sat on the edge of the bed. Reaching out, he stroked her hair away from her face. âWeâre going to need to start putting your hair in braids before you sleep so it doesnât get all tangled.â
Giggling, she nodded. âIâd like to see your braids.â
Raising his eyebrows, he brought his hands to his heart, pretending to be hurt. âIâll have you know that I can braid excellent braids. I used to do Celesteâs hair. Ma had each of us boys learn to do her hair. She said it could come in handy when we had little girls. I didnât realize at the time she meant Little girls like you, but Iâm glad she had us learn.â
She reached out and ran her hand along his jaw. âAddie told me what happened to them. Iâm so sorry.â
Colt smiled and nodded. âThank you, baby. They would have loved you.â
Staring at him, she smiled. He was so damn handsome it was hard not to stare at him sometimes. They would make beautiful kids together if they ever got to that point. Was it crazy she was thinking about that already? What if he didnât want kids? Would it ruin their dynamic if they had kids? She wouldnât want to give up being Little. It was something that was ingrained in her. She didnât think she could shut down that side of herself. âDo you want to have kids?â she blurted.
Her cheeks heated when she realized what sheâd asked, but before she could make a joke of her question or retract it somehow, he smiled. âIf I got to have them with you, yes. If you wanted them. Iâd be happy either way. I love kids but I also wouldnât ever want you or your Little to feel neglected. Do you want kids?â
Shrugging, she lowered her gaze to his chest. âI think so, but I also donât want to lose my Little side. I love being Little and being submissive. Itâs a part of me that I donât ever want to give up, and I donât know how that would work if I had kids.â
Colt reached out and cupped her chin so she was forced to look at him. She was embarrassed that sheâd admitted all of that, but when she met his gaze, it was warm and understanding. âBaby girl, I would never let your Little side fall to the back burner. If we had kids, it might be different at times, but you would always be my Little girl, and I would always be your Daddy. You know Ma was Popâs Little girl and they had that dynamic their entire marriage, and they still raised a family.
